Upload a PDF, Word document (.docx) or text file. Dayfive reads the text and shows the name, work history, skills and education it found. Check and correct that information before saving it to your profile and master resume. The original file is parsed in your browser; the file itself is not stored.
A scanned PDF may not contain readable text. If your upload cannot be read, try a text-based PDF, DOCX or TXT file. Always review the extracted text, especially dates and job titles.
Keep a master. Tailor a copy.
Your master is the reusable starting point. Paste a job description and choose “Use master resume,” or upload a different resume. Tailoring rewords and organizes your supplied experience for that posting; it does not add skills you have not supplied. Review what changed before saving the version for that job.

Text previews help you review the source used for exports. They are not a guarantee about how an employer’s applicant tracking system will parse your resume. No template can guarantee an interview.

Customer service, office work, trades and management all involve real experience worth describing clearly. Use responsibilities and examples you can explain in an interview. If you do not have a measured result, leave the number out rather than guessing.
